Your teen is struggling.
You don't have to face it alone.
Scott has spent almost three decades doing the difficult, meaningful work of helping adolescents and their families navigate some of the hardest seasons of life. As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and the owner and director of Stillwater Academy — a residential treatment center in Utah — he has built a career at the intersection of clinical excellence and genuine compassion.
“The goal was never to fix teenagers. The goal has always been to help families rediscover who they are to each other”
Scott's work is grounded in research and shaped by relationship. His ATTUNE Framework emerged from years of watching what actually shifts outcomes for families in crisis — not just techniques, but the quality of presence a parent brings into the room. His four-phase Parenting Under Pressure curriculum has become the backbone of family programming at Stillwater Academy and a sought-after resource for parent educators nationwide.
Beyond the clinical world, Scott hosts The Attuned Parent Podcast, where he translates complex neuroscience and family systems research into conversations that feel accessible, honest, and — on the best days — hopeful. He also speaks at conferences and trainings for parents, educators, and mental health professionals who want more than platitudes: they want tools, context, and someone who has actually been in the room.
Scott lives in Utah with his wife of 35 years. They have three children and four grandchildren. His faith, his family, and the mountains outside his window shape the way he sees the work.
